The European Commission has launched an open online survey to receive feedback from the key actors of the offshore renewable energy
In order to gather essential inputs from the key actors of the offshore industry, the European Commission has launched a public and online consultation that will be open until the 24th of September. The views and comments received in this survey will have an impact on the European strategy on offshore renewable energy that is being prepared by the institution and that will be published by the end of the year.
With this open consultation the European Commission wants to receive feedback from the main actors of the sector to have a general agreement for a new approach on how to exploit Europe’s offshore renewable energy potential in a sustainable and inclusive way.
In addition, the European Commission has also opened a consultation on the roadmap that will outline the different parts of the process of giving a strategic direction for the ambitious development and integration of the offshore energy by 2030 and 2050 in Europe. This second survey will be open until the 13th of August.
According to the European Commission, the aim of these initiatives, which are part of the European Green Deal, is to make it easier for the different forms of this kind of energies, such as offshore wind, to fulfil their potential in the most efficient and competitive way, while also respecting the environment.
ROMEO Project, an initiative backed by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme, is totally in line with the goal and the mission of these two consultations because they will be helpful for the European economic recovery and the increase of the renewable energies in the continent.
The consultations will be also relevant for the future of the technologies that this project is developing, which are focused on the reduction of O&M costs on the offshore wind farms. That is why if you are a key actor of this industry, your opinion will be essential to the development of a strong offshore strategy in Europe.

ROMEO Project (Reliable OM decision tools and strategies for high LCoE reduction on offshore wind) is a European initiative aimed to reduce the O&M costs of offshore wind installations through the development of advanced monitoring systems and strategies.
